DXA may be falsely elevated due to the following factors:
- Aortic calcifications
- Scoliosis
- Osteoarthritic changes
- Compression fractures
- Enteric contrast
- Renal stones
- Bone grafts
DXA may be falsely decreased due to the following factors:
- Laminectomy
- Lytic lesions
