Retroperitoneal sarcomas (excluding Kaposi) make up about 10% of all sarcomas.
The most common retroperitoneal sarcomas are liposarcoma and leiomyosarcoma, which each make up about 30% of cases, followed by malignant fibrous histiocytoma (15%).
